European Week – „Do you speak European?“

In a framework of the European week 2008 celebration, the Sisak-Moslavina County organised regional competition “Do you Speak European?” that took place today, May 5, in hotel “Panonija” in Sisak, starting at 9.30 am.

Sisak-moslavina County is a member of the Assembly of European Regions that initiated the competition. It is taking place for the first time all across the Europe, on three levels: regional, national and European, aiming to provide teams of young people age 14-18 to present what does Europe means for them. After regional and national competitions, the winners will participate in a final competition in Brussels in December 2008.

The four teams participated in the competition from high schools Glina, Topusko, Petrinja and Sisak Gymnasium. Team of High School Glina won the 1st place and they will participate in the national competition together with the Gymnasium Sisak team that won the 2nd place.

The President of the LDA Sisak, Ms Paula Rauzan, participated in the competition as a member of a jury on behalf of the European Integration Council of Sisak-Moslavina County.

Celebration of the European week 2008 will continue on the 9 May 2008 on national competition that will take place in Zagreb in Europe Home at 12:00 pm.
