Supported by Veneto Region and coordinated by City of Mogliano Veneto
Since 2002 LDA Sisak and City of Mogliano Veneto are working on restoration and promotion of Nature Park Lonjsko Polje, together with Institution Nature Park Lonjsko Polje and Faculty of Architecture (IUAV) from Venice.
Different activities are aiming to contribute to reconstruction and protection of the traditional architecture, and it has been started with the promotion of eco-tourism in Lonjsko polje through the dissemination of in Italian partner cities and their agencies.
Achieved results:
- The introductory seminar held in October 2002 in Sisak: “The exchange of experiences and best practices: Nature Park Lonjsko polje – Regional nature park of the Po’ river delta”. Seminar has gathered numerous representatives from Italy and Croatia who have exchanged the experiences about the resources management and have agreed future cooperation.
- The group of students and professors from Faculty for architecture in Venice (IUAV) has developed a restoration and reconstruction study for the traditional wooden house (no.27) in the village Čigoć inside the Nature Park Lonjsko polje. The study has been finished and presented during the meeting. The special emphasis has been put into the preservation of the tradition and cultural heritage.
- Local Democracy Agency Sisak has organised the translation into the Italian language and printing of the Nature Park Lonjsko polje promotional material. It has been printed the Master plan, the Guide through Čigoć and the leaflet “Nature park Lonjsko Polje”. At the same time, LDA has organised the translation into Italian of the web pages: www.pp-lonjsko-polje.hr (the official site of the Nature Park Lonjsko Polje) and www.cigoc.hr (the web site of the Tourist society Čigoć).
- IUAV and architect studio “Studi e progetti” made architecture project for restoration of the traditional wooden house in Čigoć No. 27
- In 2006 Department for Protection of Cultural Heritage of Ministry of Culture approved architecture project and the restoration of the traditional wooden house have started.
