Local Democracy Agency Sisak presented the results of a project “Everything in It’s Place” at a press conference hold in Sisak on 26 January 2009 in jazz club “Siscia”.
Project results’ were presented by the LDA President, Ms Paula Rauzan and project manager, Ms Kristina Ferenac.
The project was directed on informing and educating public in Sisak-Moslavina County on environment and nature protection. The aim of the project was to actively involve elementary school students in environment protection education, to contribute on rising public awareness on necessity of proper waste disposal and informing public about specific products landfills.
Elementary school students made drawings of different waste product whereof the best 15, chosen by expert jury, are on educational-informative poster that contains time needed for natural degradation of each product, information about landfills of specific waste products and name of students whose drawings are on the poster.
The project is funded by Sisak-Moslavina County, Administrative department for environmental and nature protection so it’s Head, Mr. Anto Rajic, gave his review of the project highlighting its practical use and success but the need for citizens’ proper waste disposal and recycling.
The poster was disseminated to all elementary and high schools in Sisak-Moslavina area, kindergartens, academic institutions, non governmental organisations, local media, local self-governments, libraries and other public institutions.
