During the Spring Session of the Congress held in Malaga in March 2008, the Congress approved the Recommendation the City Diplomacy. The first World Conference on City Diplomacy will take place in the Hague in June 2008 and the network of the LDAs will be represented by the LDA Subotica.
The resolution 234 (08) recognises the important role of the LDAs and their methodology of action and recommends that the Committee of Ministers note the pioneering role that the Local Democracy Agencies, established at the initiative of the Congress, play in this process and provide them with support, including budgetary support;
The recommendation was given a particular important by the President of the Governing Board of the Centre North South of the Council of Europe , M. Claude Frey, whom proposed to use the same methodology of action also in the North South programmes. Mrs. Antonella Valmorbida will attend, as observer, the Governing Board of the Center North South in Lisbon on the 31st of March 2008.
