President of the LDA Sisak, Ms Paula Rauzan participated in the “Second Regional NGO Consultation Conference on a Code on Good Practice for Civil Participation” organised by The Third Sector Foundation of Turkey (TUSEV), the Conference of International Non-Governmental Organisations and the Council of Europe on 19-20 January 2009 in Istanbul, Turkey.
This regional NGO consultation seminar is a follow-up to the Forum for the Future of Democracy in Stockholm/Sigtuna in 2007 and the First NGO Consultation Seminar for the Baltic Region in Stockholm in 2008 and aims at developing a European Code on Good Practice for Civil Participation.
The principal objective of the Code of Good Practice is to contribute to an enabling environment for NGOs in Council of Europe Member States and Belarus by defining a set of general principles and guidelines for NGO participation in decision-making processes at European level that are to be implemented at local and national level.
