25 delegates and youth officers from the LDAs are gathered from 9th to 13th February in Kotor, Montenegro for an important training seminar on European Voluntary Service within the project “Youth: the right Direction”. This event is organized by Association of the Local Democracy Agencies and LDA from Niksic with the support of the European Commission through the Youth in Action Programme.
As a follow-up of the first training held in December 2008, this second seminar aims to provide specific competencies for the youth officers and the Delegates of the LDAs to develop a good European Voluntary Service project with a special focus on the role of actors. One of the main objectives for this event is to accredit all the LDAs to host and send European volunteers. Thus, during the seminar, thanks to the cooperation with Salto SEE Resource Centre, its assessors will evaluate the expression of interest provided by LDAs to become hosting and sending organization.
Finally, during this seminar, the participants will also work for setting-up a multilateral EVS network involving all the LDAs as sending and hosting organisations, to and from EU member states partners. The aim of the seminar is to provide an action plan for the establishment of this network of EVS which would grant high quality projects, exchange of best practices, multiplying effects and long lasting cooperation among all the partners involved. ALDA will act as coordinator of the network, providing a specific support and technical assistance to all the partners and granting the relation and the communication with the European Institutions.
President of the LDA Sisak, Ms Paula Rauzan and Youth Officer, Mr Domagoj Kovacic participated on behalf of Local Democracy Agency Sisak.
