Within the project “Future: for us and for you!” organized by the Local Democracy Agency Sisak and elementary school Ivan Kukuljevic Sisak, another in a series of volunteer activities within the training program for sustainable development was held.
The volunteer action brought together 14 volunteer students and a dozen daycare users at the Home for the Elderly and Disabled. The students, along with the volunteer coordinator and the school mentor, visited the beneficiaries and presented them with Christmas decorations that they had previously created at creative workshops in the school. Also, as part of one of the Sustainable Development Goals of “A World Without Inequality”, fourth grade students and users hung out playing board games and talking. The purpose of the volunteer action was to bring together different generations to further refine their skills of mutual appreciation and solidarity.
During the project, students will continue to participate in 3 training modules for sustainable development, namely student workshops, family workshops and family volunteer activities. Workshops and volunteer activities follow global themes of sustainable development and provide the acquisition of skills that will help parents and students to work in the community in the area of sustainable development.
