On June 19, 2019, the first partnership meeting was held in Cakovec as part of the project “The Future: for us and for you!”, Sponsored by the Croatian Red Cross – Cakovec Red Cross City Society. The purpose of the project is to strengthen the partnership between civil society organizations and elementary schools in the Međimurje, Krapina – Zagorje and Sisak – Moslavina counties in the implementation of sustainable development training programs. The partners in the project are: Sisak Red Cross City Society, Donja Stubica Red Cross City Society, Strigov Primary School, Elementary School Ivana Kukuljevića Sisak, ACT Group, Elementary School Matije Gupca Gornja Stubica, Zagor Network and Local Democracy Agency Sisak.
Representatives of partner organizations participated in the meeting, and project leader Vlatka Vincetic briefly presented the project, project activities and the role of individual partners in project preparation and implementation. The working groups of all three counties will work on the preparation of a sustainable development training program related to 17 global sustainable development topics including: “A World Without Poverty”, “A World Without Hunger – Health and Wellbeing”, “Reducing Inequality”, “Gender Equality” , “Quality Education”, “Peace, Justice and Powerful Institutions”, “Sustaining Life on Earth”, “Affordable Energy from Clean Sources”, “Decent Work and Economic Growth”, “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure”, “Sustainable Cities and communities ”,“ Sustainable Consumption and Production ”,“ Climate Protection and the Conservation of the Aquatic World ”and“ Partnering for Objectives ”. The topics will be covered through three modules that include interactive workshops for students and parents, as well as a hands-on part where they will participate in family volunteer activities that will complement each topic.
The staff of the partner organizations involved in the implementation of the project will be further trained in conducting workshops in schools through participation in education on work with children with a focus on sustainable development, and a study visit to France is planned where partner organizations will be introduced to good examples teaching practices on the sustainable development of elementary school age.

Short description of the project: Within the project Future: for us and for you! elementary school students from the Međimurje, Krapina-Zagorje and Sisak-Moslavina counties will be provided with an interactive education program on sustainable development for the purpose of acquiring competencies and active involvement of students and parents in the field of sustainable development.
Aim of the project: Strengthening the partnership between civil society organizations and primary schools in the Međimurje, Krapina-Zagorje and Sisak-Moslavina counties in which a sustainable development training program is implemented. In addition to strengthening the partnership of civil society organizations, one of the goals is to strengthen the competence of children in the field of sustainable development and to enhance the active participation of children and parents in the sustainable development of the local community.
The main activity of the project is to develop and implement a sustainable development training program for 3rd and 4th grade elementary school students and their parents / guardians and to provide professional support in its implementation.
