Youngsters from 3 Croatian counties: Sisak-Moslavina, Osijek-Baranja and Istria, were in Brtonigla (Istria) from 6 to 8 November 2013, where they have started to develop a document named “The Voice of Youth”.
15 young people participated at the meeting analysing results of a survey conducted with 558 youngsters age 16 to 26 from towns: Sisak, Topusko, Petrinja, Osijek, Rovinj, Pula and Buje. From Sisak-Moslavina County representatives of Local Democracy Agency Sisak, youth association K.R.I.D. Petrinja and Technical High School Sisak participated.
The survey wanted to examine opinion, attitude and needs of the youngsters in the area of education, employment and mobility. Gained results and recommendations singled out by the youngsters, will be shaped into the document “The Voice of Youth” and be given to the regional youth policy makers at the event to be held in Osijek in January 2014.
It is important to highlight that the questionnaire used for the survey was created by the youngsters themselves during a summer camp held at the beginning of September 2013 in Brtonigla. Besides the questionnaire, during the camp youngsters produced a TV spot and radio jingle that will soon be broadcaster at regional TV and radio stations, and they made a poster and a brochure about the project and on the EU policies on youth.
These activities are implementing in a framework of the project “Youth for EU” that LDA Sisak is implementing for the area of Sisak-Moslavina, LDA Osijek for the area of Osijek-Baranja and LDA Brtonigla who is the project leader. The project is funded by the EU, IPA INFO 2011 Program, and it is aiming in contributing spreading information about the EU and useful information helping young people to meet new challenges and to be aware of new possibilities that the EU is offering.
