On April 3, 2023, an initial conference titled “Challenges of Implementing the European Pillar of Social Rights in Croatia” was held in Zagreb. The conference introduced the project “Strengthening the Capacities of Civil Society Organizations in Implementing the European Pillar of Social Rights in Croatia (ESSP).”
During the conference, the methodology for monitoring the implementation of EPSR was presented, along with the results of empirical research, the “Profile of the Croatian Welfare State, and the Social Traffic Light”. The research was conducted by the organization CERANEO and was essential for the project’s initiation.
The conference also featured a panel discussion titled “Achievements of ESPR Implementation in Croatia,” with panellists including Prof. Dr. Gojko Bežovan, Prof. Dr. Zdenko Babić, Marija Halić, and Matija Kroflin. Through this panel discussion, stakeholders from various sectors discussed the implementation of specific areas of the European Pillar of Social Rights in Croatia.
The project “Strengthening the Capacities of Civil Society Organizations in Implementing the European Pillar of Social Rights in Croatia” is supported with financial assistance of €89,258.86 from Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway through the EEA Grants. The project’s goal is to empower the advocacy capacities of civil society organizations and other stakeholders to monitor and implement the European Pillar of Social Rights at the national and local levels. Civil society organizations in Croatia play a vital role in promoting and protecting democracy and human rights.
