The first Module of the Training for Sisak volunteer’ coordinators took place 20-21 October 2016, organised by the Local Democracy Agency Sisak in cooperation with the Town of Sisak and Centre for Social Welfare Sisak in which premises the training is going on. The training is part of the project “Sisak Volunteer’ Network” and within the program of the Volunteer’ Centre Sisak that operates within the LDA Sisak.
The main objective of the training is to strengthen capacities of all community steakholders able to use volunteers in accordance to the Law on Volunteering, for managing volunteers in their organisations. Moreover, to gather different types of institutions and associations in Sisak area for sustainable inclusion in voluntary programs, particular in ones contributing to life quality of marginalised and socially excluded groups. The training is led by Mrs Jela Prgić Znika from Volunteer Centre Zagreb and Mrs Paula Raužan from LDA Sisak, which are using their expertise in the topic in order to get participants acquainted with elementary notion and values of volunteering, alongside with systematic approach in managing volunteers’ work and providing support in developing their competencies as future volunteer’ coordinators.
This year training gathers 23 persons from 14 institutions and associations, all very motivated in creating active society. Currently they are half-way through to better implementation of their ideas by coordinating other citizens willing to proactively contribute to their community growth. The next Module is taking place in November, upon which participants will receive certificates of completing Training for volunteer’ coordinators by methodology of the National curriculum of volunteer’ management.
