The project was carried out with sample of 200 citizens of Sisak in the period from August till December 2007 aiming to examine:
- citizens’ level of ecological awareness and responsibility
- ways they want waste to be treated in the County area
- citizens’ needs for education in a field of environment and waste management.
The most important findings are showing that the most of citizens consider education on waste management and sustainable development important and needed but as the educational method they single out media and printed publications. That means that the most of citizens is choosing passive education. Fewer citizens want to be actively educated throughout public debates and seminars.
