Within the project “Follow my step!” lead by the Sisak Local Democracy Agency in Sisak Gymnasium from 21 to 22 September 2019, training for trainers on practical work with young people was held, with an emphasis on sustainable development goals in the local community.

Through this training and other future education within the project, educational institutions will be strengthened to prepare and implement a program of school volunteering aimed at sustainable development and inclusion in the school curriculum. The trainer was Paula Raužan, and the training methods used are interactive methods. Participants learned the concepts of sustainable development, active citizenship, volunteering, non-formal education and, through theory and group work, prepared and presented thematic workshops for young people based on 17 global goals for sustainable development, and later will include other students.
Students and their teachers will form working groups that will develop a volunteer program with the support of volunteer coordinators after they have conducted an analysis of the needs on the types of school volunteer programs in their schools that will be implemented within future volunteer clubs, which will also be established in the coming months. About 80 students from these two schools will be involved in the project, who will be educated on the topics of sustainable development by their peers, who will jointly plan the further work of the volunteer club as well as the preparation and implementation of volunteer actions.
