7-day Cross-border work camp “Smile 2013” is successfully implemented in Children Home in Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina), as a part of the project “Cross-border Volunteers’ Networking for Local Development”. The work camp was held 1-7 July 2013 in Children Home “Rada Vranješević” and organised by Youth Communication Centre Banja Luka (OKC). 23 volunteers from Banja Luka, Sisak, Laktaši, Gradiška, Karlovac and Vrginmost actively participated.
“The purpose of the work camp was to connect volunteers and beneficiaries of the Home through different daily activities from sport area, recreation and education. Activities were diverse such as First aid course, creative workshops, visits to theatre, excursions to nature and similar. Work camp volunteers lived and worked with the Home beneficiaries last week and in that way contributed to their better socialisation. Beside that, volunteers gained new knowledge and skills for promoting volunteerism in their own communities” – explains work camp leader Aleksandar Košpić.
