Project “Getting to Know European Integration Process at the Local Level through Empowerment of the Local Media” is addressing to informing public of European integration process in Sisak-Moslavina County.
Project is aiming on education of local media representatives of European integration process at the local level; education of local media representatives on ways of informing public of European integration process and introducing representatives of local authorities and political parties with European integration process at the local level.
Project development and implementation is composed on Study visit of local media representatives to European Parliament in Strasbourg, discussions with MPs of new EU member states; meeting with the EU Parliament Press Service; meeting with the representatives of the Mission of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union and conference “What Can European Institutions Offer to Local Governments and How Much are Croatian Political Parties Prepared for Participation in European Institutions?”.
In this way, local media representatives have been educated on the ways of informing local population on EU topics and how to make EU topics closer to the local population with the stress on the election of EU Parliament representatives in the future. Moreover, gained knowledge and lessons learned have been transferred to local media, local authorities and political parties and in that way contributed to the implementation of the “Communication Strategy Aimed at Informing the Croatian Public about the European Integration Process of the Republic of Croatia” of the Croatian Government.
