Local Democracy Agency Sisak in cooperation with Public Library Sisak, had organized on the 28th of January 2008 a public promotion of a publication “For Community without Domestic Violence”, which was published by the end of the homonymous project that was implemented during the 2007 by LDA Sisak.
The publication contains certain facts about domestic violence, results of survey research on domestic violence in Sisak-Moslavina County and awarded stories of high school students on the topic of domestic violence.
The promotion was led by the president of LDA Sisak Paula Rauzan and Professor Romana Sertic Golic. Around thirty people gathered on this event, including some of them who were active participants in the project activities.
The main subject of this promotion was awarded stories of high school students, who were actively involved in a promotion by reading parts of their short stories.
Romana Sertic Golic highlighted the fact that domestic violence is a civilization problem which served as a creative provocation for 48 students who send their stories on this competition. About the stories, she emphasized the feeling of shame, humility and social isolation which often leads to suicide.
The project was implemented in partnership with the City of Sisak, in cooperation with the Centre for Social Care Kutina and supported by the Ministry of Health and Social Care and Governmental Office for Gender Equality.
