The first meeting of the Sisak-Moslavina County team within the project “Future – For us and for you!” was held in Sisak on July 12, 2019. Civil society and elementary schools in the Međimurje, Krapina-Zagorje and Sisak-Moslavina counties where a sustainable development training program will be implemented. In addition to strengthening the partnership of civil society organizations, one of the goals is to strengthen the competence of children in the field of sustainable development and to enhance the active participation of children and parents in the sustainable development of the local community.
The meeting was attended by representatives of partner organizations from the Local Democracy Agency Sisak, Elementary school “Ivana Kukuljevića” Sisak and the Croatian Red Cross – City Red Cross Society of Sisak. During the working meeting, the team members planned the concept of developing a sustainable development training program for students and parents, thereby acquiring competencies and skills for active participation in the community in the field of sustainable development. The project will involve 3rd and 4th grade elementary school students and their parents / guardians, who will, through three modules of the training program, acquire theoretical knowledge on 17 global sustainable development topics and put them into practice by participating in volunteer activities.
The project “Future: For us and for you!” Is co-financed by the Office for NGOs of the Government of the Republic of Croatia through the Swiss-Croatian Cooperation Program. The project leader is the Cakovec Red Cross City Society and partners are Strigov Primary School, ACT Group, Croatian Red Cross – Sisak Red Cross City Society, Ivan Kukuljevic Sisak Primary School, Agency for Local Democracy Sisak (ALD Sisak), Croatian Red Cross – City Society Donja Stubica Red Cross, Matija Gupac Elementary School Gornja Stubica, Zagor Network.
