Adopting Policy Analysis Skills for Successful Advocacy in the Community

19. March 2024.

On 18th March, we conducted an education session titled “Policy Analysis and Advocacy Skills” as part of the project “Live Equality, Celebrate Diversity!“. The aim of this education was to equip civil society organisations and public institutions from Sisak-Moslavina County with the skills necessary for analysing public and integration policies, and how to transform the analysed data into advocacy actions.

The education was led by Kristijan Kovačić from CROSOL – Croatian Platform for International Citizen Solidarity. He introduced participants to the most important documents concerning integration and the European Pillar of Social Rights, which advocates equal opportunities for all. He then provided a closer insight into the process of creating public policies, their objectives, and instruments. Through discussion and engaging examples of CROSOL’s successful practices, participants learned how they can effectively advocate public policies and influence institutions and decision-makers. The significance of mobilising citizens and young people, who are crucial actors in successfully advocating social change, was emphasized. As a result, participants of the education acquired knowledge that they will be able to apply in their daily work and thereby contribute to advocating for human rights and a culture of peace in their communities.

The next activity awaiting us is a working meeting with the Office of the Ombudsman on the state of human rights and ways to report violations of rights, which will take place on 12th April 2024. We invite all civil society organisations and public institutions from Sisak-Moslavina County to follow our website and social media networks to be informed about the invitation to the meeting.
